I say the same things all the time about being busy and sorry I never update you and blah blah blah. WHO CARES!
I finished a song called “I Never Knew Your Name” and it does feel like I’ve never worked harder on a song in my entire life.
To me this song does feel like the fraught process it was born from. This song started forever ago, and I had ran at it so many ways, mostly hating it every time. Finally I had figured out the song once I wrote the right chorus.
I sort of hated every second of making this. And it was something I would try to finish in between bouts of touring, anxious periods wondering about debt, etc. I would go to this song hoping to finish it, and would leave feeling worse than ever.
Anyway - that’s not to talk it down or assert the song is about anything specific. It’s just the most interesting thing to share about this song
